After years of trying to force myself to 'submit' to my husbands abuse and un-Christian behavior; (following the advice of my previous church pastors & members); it was like taking a huge breath of fresh air to have that unfair and abusive burden taken off of me; to know that I didn't have to take his abuse anymore in order to have salvation! Thanks for sharing God's truth for marriages here; God bless you for ministering to others; and showing God's love in action to help wives and families!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1802896743878321184.post-34575960673940524122010-05-21T01:53:23.205-07:002010-05-21T01:53:23.205-07:00This is excellent. I have seen the horridness of it and yes, it is poison. Sadly, the blind follow the blind and many are being effected by this poison.

blessings to you as you live out what you believe and aren't afraid to stand up for it in love.
a. ann (resolved2worship on xanga)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1802896743878321184.post-54567515432375560582010-04-28T05:05:30.027-07:002010-04-28T05:05:30.027-07:00All I can picture are the countless books that esp...All I can picture are the countless books that espouse the false picture of marriage and how much we need a wave of the truth about relationships! I spent *years* being miserable in my marriage, after having been raised with those same fundamentalist ideals, thinking that if I could only submit to my husband better and respect him more then his controlling and demeaning behavior would end. God finally impressed upon me the concept of the "one-anothers" and showed me that I was failing my husband as a brother in Christ by allowing him to treat me as he was without telling him the truth about how it affected me.Anghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01731111353035934239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1802896743878321184.post-5411864799219285142010-04-15T09:42:02.287-07:002010-04-15T09:42:02.287-07:00I was referred to your blog and I absolutely love ...I was referred to your blog and I absolutely love what you have said. I absolutely cannot trust in a God ...yes, oh, yes! I absolutely cannot trust in a God who wants us to live in a box, a Lord whose Way of Righteousness demands that I put aside everything that the same God made me to be in order to become a cookie cutter of a person. All these "biblical womanhood" ideals, if taken to a logical extreme (or not so extreme), turn ever so quickly into a vision of someone most definitely not living as the Bible suggests. I love how you make that absurdity so clear in this post.

Today is the first day I've seen your blog--came by to visit after you stopped in at mine--and I can see I'm going to have to read here more often!Sandra Keehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16979912092987681396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1802896743878321184.post-62462428521381380332010-04-14T18:58:38.459-07:002010-04-14T18:58:38.459-07:00This is so true that it should just be common sens...This is so true that it should just be common sense, and what a shame that it's not. I am married to the most honest man I have ever known, and I both love and hate that about him. (I learned pretty early in our marriage not to ask some questions!) But I respect him enough to want to be honest with him too, and I appreciate the blessing of having for my life partner someone who I know will always tell me the truth. How could you want it any other way?emrnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1802896743878321184.post-24754645985689202522010-04-14T06:52:41.665-07:002010-04-14T06:52:41.665-07:00High praise coming from you, Hillary. I remember being bewildered the first time I got told I had to protect my husband's ego. Silly me, i thought egotism was a sin.Apparently only for females ..Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10982043538182690871noreply@blogger.com
